What is integrated cancer care?

Integration of cancer care means that physicians and other healthcare professionals of different disciplines work together in a team approach to diagnose and treat the cancer patient. This team approach provides the greatest variety of therapeutic alternatives, ensuring that each patient receives the personalized treatment that is right for his or her disease.

Where is integrated care available?

Historically, the type of integration of services described above was only available in the largest multi-specialty clinics or at major academic centers. This often meant adding the stress of travel to the anxiety of treatment. Now, physicians across the United States are joining together to provide the same services in the comfort and convenience of a community medical practice.
